The Great Virtual Breast Fest
10 October, 2007 by halfpintpixie
Today is the day! Head on over to the League of Maternal Justice if you’d like to join in. They have a video on YouTube, The Montage, where a very animated discussion fight is taking place in the comments section!
You may have realised that we at the halfpintpixie household like our annonymity so I won’t be posting any of our breastfeeding photos, but rest assured babypixie (or should that be toddlerpixie) is still breastfeeding happily at 11 1/2 months of age. She is feeding and napping in my arms as I write, so cute!
This beautiful painting is “Maternity” by Picasso, it hangs above my nursing chair in the living room. I love looking at it, it’s like a precious moment frozen in time.

What a beautiful painting! Thanks for sharing, I hadn’t seen it before.
It’s incredible how we look at our offsprings, isn’t it?I often find myself looking at her beautiful face while breastfeeding and in deep thoughts. As if I hadn’t seen her for ages
Perfection! I’m looking forward to reading your blog!
That is a very beautiful picture
beautiful painting. thanks for supporting the breast fest!

I think it is so funny that we have all these old (not so old)painting of Mothers holding babies or breastfeeding babies but no one really thinks of how people in history used to care for their children…breastfeeding untill they were 3-4 years old…co-sleeping in the ‘Family bed’.
Yes must find a few photos and the like for our house hold…I think I’ll have a look for some other cultures.
Love
